An Encounter With The Consul General Of India To New York Sandeep Chakravorty

Last December 14, United Software Group CEO Anju Vallabhaneni got to meet and talk about career, business, and success with the respected Indian Ambassador and Consul General for New York Sandeep Chakravorthy.

Anju was very thankful for the opportunity to meet such an influential person, who was formerly the ambassador of India to Peru and had envoy duties in Bolivia as well. Ambassador Chakravorty has been a member of the Indian Foreign Service since 1996. He holds a master’s in advanced studies from Geneva University and an MA in sociology.

Ambassador Chakravorty graduated from Delhi University with a degree in physics. Before being appointed to Peru, he was India’s Deputy High Commissioner in Dhaka. Prior to doing government work for India, he was for several years involved in various organizations dealing with forestry and watershed development issues in the country.

Ambassador Chakravorty has also served in India’s missions in Madrid and Bogota. In India’s Ministry of External Affairs, he served on several desks including working as Press Relations Officer and as Private Secretary to the Minister of State for External Affairs. He also served in the Eurasia Division dealing with Central Asia and in the East Asia Division dealing with China, Japan, Korea, and Mongolia.
